Mrs. Royal graduated with honors from Fitzgerald High School in 1988.

She received her Associate of Fine Arts from Young Harris College in 1990 and her Bachelor of Music Education (with a major in voice) from Georgia Southern University in 1992.

She holds a Masters in Reading and Literacy, as well as an ABD in Teacher as Leader from Walden University.

She is also certified in Early Childhood Education.



Mrs. Royal began her music teaching career at Len Lastinger Elementary in Tifton, GA. She taught at this school for one year. This was only a half-day job, so Mrs. Royal also taught dance in the afternoons with Clatina Dance School in Fitzgerald, GA.

In 1993, Mrs. Royal began teaching music at Ben Hill Elementary. Mrs. Royal taught music there for about five/six years, then the opportunity came for her to teach at Ben Hill Primary. Mrs. Royal has been teaching music at Ben Hill Primary ever since. She is currently in her 20th year of teaching music.   


Mrs. Royal is married to Andy Royal. They have four children: Emily, Brooks, Annlyn, and A.J. She likes spending time with her family and traveling. 

Mrs. Royal LOVES music and dancing!!

She took piano lessons for years, played the alto saxophone in Jr. High, took dance for twelve years and was a member of the first show choir at FHS. She performed in five musicals at FHS, and was the leading lady in "The Music Man" her senior year. She was an alternate in the Governor's Honors Program in Dance. She was awarded music scholarships to both Young Harris College and Georgia Southern University.
